Seeing
the world at 12 mph makes it much easier to stop and gaze. In the past
while driving that might have meant I was wasting time because I needed
to be somewhere else . . . soon. The minute or two that I can spend
looking at something or taking a picture is time well spent.
Today, I stopped and looked at these . . .
Solitary trees, especially are compelling to me; simultaneously
powerful and alone.
Remnants of the past can be small, visual treasures.
For most of
my life I watched the world from the driver's seat of a car. For the
past few years I have been seeing the world from my seat astride a
bike. It's life at 12 MPH and one of the things that is easier to do is
stop and see things even more closely.
I went riding in the countryside outside G'ville to day and here are
some of the things I saw.
